How Lowe's prices the free tools
- Lowe's does not zero out the free tools. It spreads what you pay across every item in the promotion, and each one gets a new, lower price in the cart and on the receipt.
- Together they add up to what you paid: in our cart, $449.01 across four items.
- If you return one item you keep the rest, but you are refunded only that item's reduced price, not its regular price.
- Pick the tools you will really use. Returning one only gets back its share of the price.

How to get the most out of it
- Take the $449 tier if you need two big packs anyway; the two 8Ah XR packs are most of that price on their own.
- Pick the highest-priced tools on the list (impact wrenches, circular saw, router) to get the most value.
- If you only need one tool, the $199 tier is the cheapest way in.
- Veterans and active military (how to verify): link your military ID to a MyLowe's account and the 10% military discount stacks on top of the free tools. On the $449 tier that was another $44.90 off when we checked out.
- Keep the receipt. If the price drops during Lowe's Black Friday (starts October 29), ask about a price adjustment.
